BOMBSHELL: TCU Students Blow Whistle on Mandatory Social Justice Graduation Survey
Several anonymous students at Texas Christian University have come forward to expose what they describe as an ideologically driven requirement tied to graduation.
The students say they were instructed to complete a mandatory survey titled “Finding Ourselves in Community,” which included a series of race based and gender ideology questions. According to the students, failure to submit the survey would prevent them from receiving their diploma.
One required question asked whether the student had “at least one faculty member here that I can talk to about difficult social justice issues.” Another section pressed students to affirm that they understand Equity and Inclusion, that they can demonstrate inclusion of other racial groups, and that they are able to engage in anti racist practices that actively challenge what the university describes as systems and structures of racism.
Students who contacted us anonymously voiced concern that a Christian university is mandating ideological conformity rather than promoting biblical principles.
FLJ also obtained classroom documents from Dr. Lisa Vanderlinden’s Cultural Anthropology course titled “Sex, Gender, Sexuality.” According to TCU, Dr. Vanderlinden is an associate professor who teaches Cultural Anthropology, Medical Anthropology, Health and Illness.
Her presentation teaches students that there are five sexes, defines the term cisgender, and introduces concepts such as Gender Transvesti and Gender Muxes.
The material also instructs students that gender and sexuality are culturally constructed rather than rooted in biological or biblical truth. Students described the class content as another example of the university prioritizing left-wing ideology.
Another image obtained by FLJ shows material from a “Contemporary Topics on Sociology” course with professor Yvonne Chen. The assignment allegedly given to students was titled “The minority stress of hiding: the effects of LGBT identities and social support on aging adults about housing.” The abstract begins with the sentence, “The lesbian, gay bisexual and or transgender LGBT aging adult population is increasing rapidly in the United States.”
A final exam photo from the same class shows a question asking students to identify which option was not considered a social psychological resource that advantages white people under the concept of systemic racism. Another slide shown to FLJ from the sociology course read “Increase Mental Health Problems” from the LGBTQ community.
TCU is unfortunately not alone. Across the country, Christian institutions have begun adopting secular ideologies rooted in race, gender identity, and political activism. These belief systems elevate human categories to a form of idolatry where a person’s racial or identity group becomes more central than Christ Himself.
Christian doctrine has always affirmed human dignity because all people are made in the image of God. Scripture does not endorse the modern obsession with dividing students into competing identity groups or requiring them to pledge allegiance to political theories of race and gender. Instead, the Bible calls believers to unity in Christ through faith rather than unity enforced by ideological agreement with secular institutions.
“There is neither Jew nor Greek. There is neither servant nor free. There is neither male nor female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ's, then you are the offspring of Abraham and heirs according to the promise.” -Galatians 3:28 to 29
Many Christian parents, students, and alumni are now asking a simple question. Why are Christian universities discipling students into the idolatry of race and gender ideology rather than the teachings of Jesus Christ and sticking with proper education?
For Liberty & Justice reached out to TCU for comment, but did not receive a response.
