Rep. Schatzline Will Not Seek Re-election

Representative Nate Schatzline has announced this week that he will not seek re-election to the Texas House of Representatives. Now in his second term, Nate has served the people of House District 93 with conviction, boldness, and unwavering faith. He is stepping from one battlefield into another, leaving elected office (term ends 2027) to embrace a national calling as part of the National Faith Advisory Board, a council of faith leaders dedicated to advising the White House on matters impacting Christian communities across America.

Nate is the founder of For Liberty and Justice, a housed vision birthed out of Mercy Culture Church with a powerful mission: to mobilize the Church to civic engagement and raise up God-centered statesmen to lead with boldness. In addition to his work in public service, Nate continues to serve as a pastor at Mercy Culture Church and a leader in The Justice Reform, a ministry committed to rescuing women from the horrors of sex trafficking.

One key question many have asked since his announcement is whether Representative Schatzline is resigning from office. He is not. He remains fully committed to fulfilling his duties as a duly elected representative through the end of his term in January 2027.

This transition marks more than a political move; it is a spiritual shift. It represents a new chapter not only for the voters of HD93 but for the broader Church. Pastor Nate will now devote his energy to connecting with pastors and congregations across Texas, expanding For Liberty and Justice, and advancing the God-given vision that began years ago.

While his season in the legislature will conclude just over a year from now, his mission is far from over. The work ahead is spiritual, and Nate knows that’s where the true battle lies. Every challenge Texas and America face can ultimately be traced back to the heart, the home, and our collective relationship with God. That’s why this next assignment carries such weight and purpose.

Philippians 3:13–14 reminds us:

“Forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”

This verse beautifully captures Nate’s transition, pressing onward toward a higher calling in obedience to God’s plan.

Life unfolds in seasons, each one preparing us for the next. Nate’s calling in this season is clear and divinely timed. The entire team at For Liberty and Justice shares in that conviction, we couldn’t be more supportive or more excited about what’s to come. We honor Pastor Nate for his faithfulness, courage, and tireless service to the people of Texas.

Though his legislative journey continues for another year, Nate’s impact is already undeniable. In just three short years, he has championed efforts to strengthen the Texas border, successfully combat pornography, lower taxes, and secure educational choice for parents across the state. His leadership has reflected both moral clarity and bold conviction.

His family, church, and community stand proudly behind him, not just for what he’s accomplished in Austin, but for the greater work now ahead. In the same spirit that has defined his public service, Pastor Nate now steps into his next chapter with renewed purpose: to serve the Kingdom of God and continue fighting the battles that truly matter.

As we often declare at For Liberty and Justice: the battle is not political, it’s spiritual. Having fought faithfully in the halls of government, Pastor Nate now returns to the spiritual frontlines, armed with newfound wisdom and authority that only obedience to God can bring.
